sunday we went to an open house at Dowling.  I was picking up some papers and when I looked around you were gone.  I had Rick go one way and I went the other. Rick found you just as someone was asking you where your mommy was.  You said "me don;t know."  When Rick brought you back to me you go "mommy you lost"  "you hold my hand"

My Thoughts: at disney when you find a lost child you are suppose to say that the parents are lost.  it's suppose to make the child feel better and honestly there is never a lost child at Disney World, they always know where they have at.

Well Kelsey you are a stubborn little girl.  You think everything should be done your way.  You want certain people to babysit you and whenever someone ask you your name you say "My name is Kaci."
We are going to audition for a lottery commercial on the 16th.  We are going to say "Money, Money, Money come into my bag" and then each of us pick a number.  I am very nervous about going.  But I think you ans Kinsey will probably steal the show.

My thoughts: 1) there is a trend from this post on... i suppose i'm still "stubborn" into my teenage years"
2) lottery commercial? really?

well you have grown up quite a bit since the last time I wrote in here.  The last time we went camping you were excellent. 
but you aren't going to bed good at night.  Some nights you don't go to sleep until 11pm.  You roam the house until you go to sleep.  ANd you like putting on a big scene everynight beofre you fo to bed, screaming and yelling. 
You want to go everywhere and do everything and if you don't get what you want, you throw another temper tantrum

My Thoughts:  I don't think there is nothing wrong with being adventurous

You are getting a little better about camping now.  But you still scream when it is time to go to bed, you still cry when Megan comes over to babysit, etc. 
You have been to three of Ricks baseball games this year, you are getting better about behaving at them.

My Thoughts: i'm glad "i'm getting better" at doing things....

You hate to stay with the babysitter now. all I have to say I'm calling "meg" and you start crying. The only places I have taken you have been really fun places, so now you think you are missing out if you don't get to go.
I took all 5 of you to the Hy-Vee food fair at Vets.
you really enjoy yourself when Kassie is gone, you get to get into her stuff. The other day she was gone, you asked me if you could go into Kassie's room. Kassie gets really mad at you when you go into her room.
One day Kassie went into your room and you started yelling "Get out of my room"

you are still being a stubborn little girl. you scream when I take you to daycare and when someone asks you to do something that you don't want to do. you think you should be able to do anythin you want to do. I just hope that you are just going through the terrible 2's.

you have been a little bit better, but you still think you are the only one that matters. you think that everything is yours and you can take anything you can get your hands on.
If Kassie leaves her door open, you are right in there stealing something.

2-2-1989

well you are officially potty trained. Day Care started giving you M&M's and you learned really fast after that. you are really proud of yourself and you let everyone know when you go to the potty.
you also know where time out is. you march right over to the corner when we send you there, and when you get there you start crying.
one time Megan forgot you were there and left you there for 15 minutes, before she realized it.

2.5 years old

you are still really stubborn. if you don't like something, you make everyone know it.
we started potty training you today. I had to I ran out of diapers.

you did a good job at your Christmas program this year, you knew all the actions to all the songs. you kids bought presents at daycare for the whole family. you thought they were all for you, so you opened all of them.

you are the most stubborn little kid I have ever met. it took me 45 minutes to get you dressed in a dress yesterday for thanksgiving dinner. you didn't want to wear tights or your good shoes.
you and Whitney had a good time playing together.

My Thoughts: but really, who like wearing tights or "good" shoes.

you really like day care now. you are always smiling when you are there and you have a really cute smile.
Kinsey started eating baby food now, you get really mad when she eats it, because you want it. you tell her no every chance you get. you just love having someone to push around.
I hope in years to come you two will become friends.

My thoughts: i suppose you could considering kinsey and me friends, but i still do love pushing her around.

2.1 years old

9-23-1988

You have been getting along better at day care, but you are still a real stubborn person.   The other day i was holding Kinsey and i was sitting on the floor, you came up to Kinsey, slapped her face and told her to get off.   

I was giving Kinsey crackers the other day and they kept disappearing. when you came out you had about 7 crackers.  you have stolen everyone of your sisters crackers. 

My thoughts: i'm glad that kinsey and i still have this relationship... plus dad always says "possession is 99%."

almost 2 years

8-7-1988

i can't believe you are almost 2.  i can't believe time flies by that fast.  you will be starting day care this fall.  I think you will really like it.  it is time for you to move up in the world.  

you don't talk much yet, but your speech will improve a lot when you start dy care.  

you like to be outside or downstairs in the basement.  you like to get into anything you can.  you dig in the garbage and anytime Kassie leaves her door open you are in her room digging.  

you like to wear dresses and go for car rides.  you don't care where you go as long as you get to go somewhere.  

My thoughts: I told Stephanie i would give her a shout out when she was born (since we are 2 years apart). so happy almost bday!

you are still jumping, you busted your baby bed this week, now I need to get you another one. you have started talking a little bit, but not much. you let me know you want something by screaming.
you spend a lot of time playing outside.
your sister just hate going outside to watch you. You are really easy to watch, but i don't think they like the responsibility. if you are out there you play for hours.

My Thoughts: I like that she picked on kaci and kassie... it makes me feel better about myself. :)

1.9 years old

5-21-1988

yesterday, your little sister, kinsey, was baptized. you had on a green dress and you looked beautiful.
When the priest got done, he turned to me and said "I think i better baptize her again, I must have done something wrong the first time." he was talking about you.
you spent at least an hour jumping; Bobby, Amy, and Tim couldn't believe how well you could jump.
Bobby mentioned that you have muscles in your legs from jumping so much, I didn't realize until he said something.

My Thoughts: this is one of my favorite entries, well so far.

20 months

4-24-88

you graduated out of the playpen, so you run free now.  we are having a few problem, like you are always digging in the garbage.  

last weekend you are some muddy pie water, i didn't know about it until after you went to bed and vomited all over the place. 

their was a couple of hundred little rocks all over the place.  

you vomited again a couple nights later, but then on you appeared to be okay.  

you are still on the bottle.  hopefully i will get you off it this next weekend.  

boy, will you be mad, your bottle is your favorite thing. 

My Thoughts: this is definitely one of those post i wish never was written. 

and just for clarification i no longer have a problem digging through the garbage or eating mud-pies.  

19 months

3-19-1988

You have discovered the world of "outside." you love going out, i usually let you play out there for 3 or 4 hours.  you really get wore out.  

you are still on the bottle, i don't know when i'll take it away, it has to be soon now. 

i go back to work in 3 weeks.  

I also get to move you out of the play pen, so Kinsey can start using it.  

you are not talking much yet, but you don't have to all you got to do is yell and everybody gets you what you want.

well kelsey, you have a new sister Kinsey Kay born on 1-30-88, 5 weeks early weighing 6 pounds 12 ounces.  She was delivered by C-section because she was sideways and her arm was twisted back.  

your first impression was that you really weren't all that interested, and after that whenever you would see her, your eyes would get really big and you would start crying.  

now finally, i think you are accepting her.  you smile at her and start waving at her if i bring her out of the bedroom.  

i think you found out she wasn't going to get all my attention.  

i think i might let you start day care early, that way you can start doing some "big-kid" stuff.  Kaci started when she was 18 months old and she just loved it, i'm sure you will too.  

My Thoughts: i love that my mom just forgot to mention she was pregnant in her previous entries.  

1.4 years old

1-1-1988

Well, Happy New Year Kelsey.  Before long we will have to take you off the bottle, so you better enjoy it while you can.  

you enjoyed Christmas Day at Grandma Nixons, you played with Whitney all day.  You got a glo-worm from Santa.  You still haven't learned that if you squeeze it, it will light up.  But you were able to figure out that you can zip and unzip it.  you love to zip and unzip bags, any kind of bag.  You spend hours putting your toys in and taking them out.  

You got a shot a few days before Christmas, but luckily this time you didn't have a temperature.  

You weigh now that same amount Kaci weighed at 9 months.  

1.3 years old

12-6-1987

You have been sick a lot lately.  i think the doctor is going to have to run some test on you to make sure everything is okay.  This is the 4th time you have been on antibiotics since august.  

You have just finished a bottle of medicine and your nose is already running. 

your favorite food right now is macaroni and cheese and you always get really excited when you get to have it.

you point your finger now and say "look, look."  you love to run "wild," and you love to watch Kaci and Kassie play with each other.  

you can walk really well now.

You have been sick this past eek.   i took you to the doctor on tuesday, he said you had a virus.  He wouldn't put you on antibiotics, i was really upset about it.  But as always, the doctor was right, a couple of days later you will be feeling back to normal. 

We have a lady come to the house now, to watch you while we work.  You seem to be getting along pretty good.

8-24-1987

Well young lady you turned one years old yesterday.  You have the longest hair at one, then any of the other girls had.  You have been walking up a storm, and you still jump all night long.  

your sister, Kassie go second runner up in the Miss Perry Contest.  their were 14 girls in it.  

You are going to have pretty blue eyes just like your sister, Kassie. They haven't changed colors yet, so i doubt they will.  

we are going to celebrate your birthday tomorrow.  Just dad and I and the kids, each one of the kids are going to give you one toy, a piece.  

My Thoughts:  I ended up having green eyes, and that is probably why I never won a "Miss Perry contest"

Almost One

You still like to jump, you have been taking a few steps. 

you are a very happy and a loving person.  Most of your time is spent in the playpen.  You also say at your babysitters while we were on vacation.  

You were really good to her.

You spend hours jumping in your bed, I think it is your favorite past time.  You are still a pretty slim little girl.  

You are very aggressive when you get around other babies even if you are the smallest one.  you love to pull hair. 

Your face lights up whenever one of your brothers or sisters come into the room.  They all just love the heck out of you

Kelsey, 

Your aunt Jane was killed in a car accident last thursday night (6-4-1987).  A drunk driver hit her and killed her instantly. 

She was a beautiful person and always wanted to help watch you kids,  She loved to hold you guys.  

I am going to miss her so much, I love her very much. 

She would call me when she would come home on the weekends and ask me to please bring you over, so she could hold you.  

She went straight to heaven and she will always look after you.

You are standing up now, and walking when hanging on to something. 

you are eating Peas and Fruit.  You also say Da-Da really good and you love to spit. 

your older brother and sisters are really enjoying you now.  

you went back to your old babysitter, Barb, 2 weeks ago. I think you might have enjoyed the other place better
